Filling The Void. Fueled by the state of the world Filling The Void is Final Prayers smashing answer to all the bullshit that surrounds us all.
Sticking to their roots while at the same time improving every nuance of their sound, was just the vision they set out to capture. As guitar player Flo explains: We simply tried to make every fast part faster, every breakdown heavier, every sing-along catchier, without loosing sight of what Final Prayer is all about - plain, pure and brutal hardcore with a strong socio-political message.
After starting jamming in 2004, things quickly evolved. The first songs were recorded and put to a limited tape edition. The demo sold out in no time and was even rated demo of the month in Germanys´ leading magazine for Rock and Metal music, Rock Hard. After a split CD with their buddies Crisis Never Ends, Final Prayer released their first album entitled RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW in January 2006 and received raging reviews in all leading heavy metal and hardcore magazines. According to such an approach over the last years and filling the gap between albums, Final Prayer released a split 7inch with San Francisco-based HC-band Alcatraz in June 2007.
Extensive touring has been going on along with every release. Literally the band was playing everywhere from dirty basements to fancy concert halls. Final Prayer supported Comeback Kid on their European release tour in 2007, played support shows for Hatebreed and played in front of thousands of people at With Full Force festival. Either way the bands´ approach towards their live performances has always stayed the same: 200% Hardcore energy, no matter what
!
Without slowing down or falling for questionable trends or role models, that are just flavour of the day, Final Prayer developed their own brand of heavy hardcore which led to their debut album on GSR Music Filling The Void which surfaces on May 23rd.
To fulfil their vision of a powerful and bonecrushing sound, the band returned to Berlins´ Daily Hero Recording studios and recorded 11 new songs. The tracks were then mastered by New Yorks very own Alan Douches (West West Side Music), who already helped bands like Hatebreed or Sick Of It All to create a remarkable sound. With such credentials Final Prayer have managed to create a sound capable of holding its own with the top international hardcore acts.
Neck breakers like Annihilation and Wartime are followed by sing-along hymns like In Denial and Fashion Parade. Doomsday Of The New Gods, a song dealing with the upcoming ecocide caused by global warming, brings about total devastation, before the catchy sing-a-long in More Than Just Music reminds you that while music alone certainly can not change the world, it may inspire people to change themselves.
More than enough words spilled on paper here, so just go ahead, listen to the music, read the lyrics and try to FILL THE VOID!
