1. HODIE MIHI, CRAS TIBI

Here lies the lowly, there lies the great,
Their hours lost to forever's lake.
White waves eat away at their ships,
Teeth of the worm, glimmering reefs.

Hodie mihi, cras tibi
From below, an impossible plea.
All you living, enjoy life.
Memento mori! Memento mori!

Their short summer has gone by.
Winter's snow saw them all fall.
Dance within despair's all seasons,
We exist for no reason.

Sails of oblivion above their heads
Never belly out in the winds of the dead.
Static farers of eternity's seas
Row not but rot in peace.

Hodie mihi, cras tibi
From below, an impossible plea.
All you living, enjoy life.
Memento mori! Memento mori!

A child safe inside her day,
The archer's soon to befriend her.
All hay, all flesh, all clay, all Death's,
Life's an orgy of surrender.

The dead's horizon is a dark steep wall,
It stands to guard the furthest shore.
King and Fool, Beggar and Knight
Journey ever on a starless night.

Hodie mihi, cras tibi
From below, an impossible plea.
All you living, enjoy life.
Memento mori! Memento mori!

2. BRETHREN OF THE BLACK SOIL

I went stooping and humble through my life,
Nothing but dirt in mighty eyes.
Here I am now, erect in Death's democracy
Straight is my back, ever so horizontally.
The rich look down on me no more, they are all here.
And the ferry toll makes all poor.
So forgive me Life, it is for Death I bow:
True freedom is only found below!

We worked the black soil under cross and crown.
Fork and spade, blood, sweat and barrow.
Feudal slavery, in shackles in fear of God.
The fruits, the bounty of hard labour
Your gilded world, so rotten to the core.
Our sadness, our voices so long ignored
No release through the freeing blood of Christ
In saecula saeculorum, work without end.

But earth heaved and sighed
And then came the tide
Finally equal, equal in death.
Yes earth heaved and sighed
And then came the tide,
Rightfully judging all men to dust.

Oh you noble, merry gentlemen
You never forgave me my poverty, my misery.
Now this plague has cost both of us everything
Still you have lost much more than I.
And for your sins you fear Heaven won't let you in
While Death when paid his due
Only our flesh's most fine offering
Receives us below and forgives us anything.

But earth heaved and sighed
And then came the tide
Finally equal, equal in death.
Yes earth heaved and sighed
And then came the tide,
Rightfully judging all men to dust.

"Det höga rykets namn ska driva bort som skum
Hur kan en människa, tidens lekboll dum
Hava hopp om att sitt liv i evighet förpakta?
Vad är då allt som vi uti våra komrar låst?
Vårat guld, vårat allt? Blott skuggor, stoft och blåst
Vad evigt är får ingen, mänsklig blick betrakta."

A new sunrise, now for no-one's eyes.
Sheaves are left on fields soon fallow.
None draws a sword or wields the hollow Word
To the deaf ears of a dead herd.
In the ruins, the skulls of poor and great
All white, plucked clean, same grin.
You cannot tell lord from lowly serf.
Brethren forever at last, in the black soil.

But earth heaved and sighed
And then came the tide
Finally equal, equal in death.
Yes earth heaved and sighed
And then came the tide,
Rightfully judging all men to dust.

3. MAXIMINUS THRAX

I am Maximinus,
Titan spawn of Cyclops,
Born for greatness I was never small.
By blood of the Alani,
But ever since she found me,
Her spirit has been crying, Emperor!

Woe, oh Rome,
A Sciron to save you from decline.
Woe, oh Rome,
Come stand on the shoulders of Typhon.
Woe, oh Rome,
Your kingdom of gold to rust and iron.
In the dawn of the heartless.

A soldier of the barracks
My legions hail me Ajax
While the nobles are plotting for my fall.
Oh, creatures of the Senate
I'll send them all to Hades
With lust for blood I'm coming for my throne!

Woe, oh Rome,
A Sciron to save you from decline.
Woe, oh Rome,
Come stand on the shoulders of Typhon.
Woe, oh Rome,
Your kingdom of gold to rust and iron.
In the dawn of the heartless.

The senators' plan was devious
Destroying all my bridges
Cutting me off when I had crossed the Rhine.
Their men would then surround me
Fools died by their own treachery
I killed them all and made Germania mine!

Day by day I'm fiercer,
More savage with each wound,
There is no escaping Maximinus' boot!

I am Maximinus
Titan spawn of Cyclops
I am great Busiris
Gigas and Phalaris.

I am Maximinus
Titan spawn of Cyclops
I am great Busiris
Gigas and Phalaris.

I am Maximinus
Titan spawn of Cyclops
I am great Busiris
Gigas and Phalaris.

4. THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE

Come join in youthful folly
To save the city of all holy
Kneeling sheep to cease the cross
We are Pueri, the chosen righteous
God will walk with us, he will part the sea
The meek shall be the mighty
Hear the bride's calling, she want's to be free
Coevis, when do we leave

Clergy cowers in their ivory towers
Resting in raging shame upon their laurels
The purple pious, the knight's, the warriors
Have all failed where we shall be victorious
Through love we'll conquer, it is foretold
Sheperds to cull, without swords
Lightning our tongues, and when we are done
Their house on mud will fall to the ground

We are the small, those who Christ has seen
The poor that shall deliver the Palestine
In truth, by virtue of our innocence
We'll be the masters of the Saracens

German sons, daughters of France
Marching in thousands over Italian mountains
The heat stifling, merciless the sun
The chosen are falling one by one
Genoese shoreline, the sea lay a floor
Mocking the pure few and torn
Their prophecy dissolved in the ocean's foam
By fall God's children were gone

We are the small, those who Christ has seen
The poor that shall deliver the Palestine
In truth, by virtue of our innocence
We'll be the masters of the Saracens

So the meek would de the meek at last
Clergy heard the devil laught:
"It is his business to mislead -
Evil made the lambs stampede!"
United under the cross
The flock now scattered and lost
Their tale of sacred bravery
Ending in death and slavery

5. IN BETWEEN TWO FLOODS

Leave home, leave field, go now out!
Come with me, let burdens lie
The wind it blows from the south
Hear me, we all shall die!

Drink up! Embrace sin!
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Live now! Curse God!
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid.

Let us rejoice when darkness thrives
Oh, this is Hell but we shall laugh.
There is still time, we're still alive,
Let's dance round the golden calf!

Drink up! Embrace sin!
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Live now! Curse God!
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid.

Father, you would not see our pain!
Christ, why did you hide your face?
A bleeding darkness had us slain!
Holy spirit we were void of grace!

A wind of knives to prune mankind
The black tempest claimed us all.
Oh, this gust came out of Hell
None could stand, cursed we fall.

Leave home, leave field, go now out!
Come with me, let burdens lie
The wind it blows from the south
Hear me, we all shall die!

Drink up! Embrace sin!
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Live now! Curse God!
Don't be afraid, don't be afraid.

If you are living now then know:
You live in Man's last age
In between two floods
You live in the shadow
Of the hammer of God - so dance!

6. BOGBODIES

Shadows caused by the trick of light when
It shone a cross (over) the deeps of the land
Shadows crawled into the souls of men
They weakened them, weakened them

Osmund's treasures, ransoms paid in flesh
We sank, willing to greet our deaths

Guardians of holy fen
We slept for thousand years in her depths
In man-killing bethel's we were saints
They dug us out, sleepers out

True martyrs are we anointed by the peat
Die prachttaucher shriek, we still speak

Bicksten, Borsteler, Hogenset, Bareler,
Luttra, Spelle, Getelo, Gallagh
