One of the best albums of 2014!

Saruman has a metal band and is damn good! Those who saw a Gormathon’s concert or video before know what I am talking about.

In an ocean of bands playing so similar and generic music, Gormathon is an island of creativity. The rough and sometimes guttural vocals mixed with cleaner and higher pitch, makes the singer Tony Sunnhag sound very original and unique.

Their music is compared to Amon Amarth for some people and, some parts of some different songs sound very similar to them. In my opinion Gormathon is a more versatile band and their writing is richer and catchier than Amon Amarth’s composition.

Follow the beast is not a totally new album, as 4 songs were released in singles before. Their formula is still the same as their previous releases; the music is a mix of traditional heavy metal, thrash, melodeath and all that good stuff.

Every single song is unique. The hooks are powerful and the melodies are catchy and get stuck in our minds since the first listening. Gormathon is recommended for fans of almost every metal genre, and I think everybody should give them a try.

Lens of Guardian is still my favorite album, but Follow the Beast doesn’t disappoint at all.
I would say the highlights are Hellbender, Celestial Warrior, Absence of Trust, and Warlords of Doom. Well, that’s very personal, so my advice is check them out and choose your own favorites…
