Hello Nicola, thank you for accepting this interview: so let's start with the first one. Can you rapidly describe all the last news about the band?
The band got a drastic line-up change in 2007 (november) so I reorganized the whole line-up. An year later November 2008 we start to play live once again, now we're preparing the new album with the aim to record it during the summer 2009.



Are you happy for the sales' results of your last album? What can you say about 'Gruesome Splendour' ?
Sure! Gruesome Splendour sold very well considering that we're an italian band not promoted by a major. For this motive we have to work out promoting our releases and to play live as more as we possible. We have been one of the best selling extreme italian bands and today still arrives requests for Gruesome Splendour (2006) and Vicecrown (2003) off course!



So now we have some special questions for you, concerning the first Handful Of Hate full-lenght, entitled 'Qliphotic Supremacy'....Twelve years are passed: have you ever thinked to reprint this album, and give to it a sort of 'other possibility' ?
Yes, because a lot of people are continuing to ask for it! this cd is sold out since 2002 after the sell of almost 1700 copies! So if some label is interested just get in contact with me. I'd like to reprint it including the demo songs and a lot of pics from the past.



What face of the occultism do you show in this cd?
O.T.O. philosophy, Tantric sexual magic, A.A. discipline.

It's a burning sun pic captured with special filters.


All the booklet and the graphic, turn around symbols: how is changed the meaning of the word 'symbol' for you and what does the face-painting means for you?
I think that now all things are more explicit than in the past. The corpse painting has evolved so much during these years from album to album, this helps us to rapresent our inner side and until now we didn't found a good reason to give-up corpse paint.



Most important trademarks of QS are: a lot of arpeggios, fast crushing-guitar riffs, and hellish drumming. In some cases I think those characteristics are too much, in other, I see they are in perfect union. Can you describe your point of view?
It's easy: this is a good cd but you notice that the album's frame has been shaped by unesperienced guys. Too many boring arpeggios that's true! maybe melody somethimes is boring too. A lot of things to improve but this has been our first cd.



Can you describe the feeling of Qliphotic's Era, behind the band and the black metal scene?
It was a different time I still remember there werent's so many black metal bands but few ones, we was very motivated. The scene was composed by few bands in Italy and a every day larger amount of bands from Scandinavia. All eople was saying that Death Metal was dying but they was wrong Death Metal has never died but it regenerated itself in a stronger way the same thing happened for Black metal few years ago... Maybe in that

there were too many people talking about Black Metal and few good musiciand. Simply too many words and few good quality music.



Some titles are: 'Urdha Kundali' and 'Undicies Ah-Qliphah', or 'Astral Offspring Of Abhorrence'. What's reality and pure fantasy concerning this album and why lyrics are not available?
We decided to not put them inside the booklet because the greater part of the lyrics were based on the inner rituals to O.T.O.



What kind of black metal is for you Qliphotic Supremacy?
Primordial, fast, carnal/occult and a bit melodic Black metal



What's your favourite song of this cd and what are for you, the strong point, after all those years (if you can find them) ?
I like two songs I composed like 'Erection..' and 'Undeciaes ah-qliphah'. I think the good quality recording is a strong point.



Do you think could be really a label interested to reprint QS? Leave a message to them all!
Yes maybe with some bonus tracks or the demo remastered version included. Orders still arrives so why do not try to re-print it?
