1. TALK OF THE TOWN

(Storyteller):
A few weeks have passed and abby and daniel are still madly, hopelessly in love.
Try as they might, it's impossible fort them to hide it; and why should they?
And it is equally obvious that daniel's brother henry does not approve.
No... not one little bit, and henry plans to do something about it

(Henry):
Do you see them? - go you hear them?
They are talking about you

2. THIS HUMAN EQUATION

“Meanwhile, the angel and her furies are observing all these earthly events from their vantage point In transitus.
Hmm! they find the complexities of human nature fascinating, perplexing, and endlessly Entertaining.
And they are determined to resolve… this human equation! ha ha ha! oh… poor people…”

Angel of death and the furies:
You’d think they were crazy, I’d almost say… stupid
But they can be amazing, although they don’t look it
Yes they can be charming, uniquely disarming, naive but enchanting
On a good day they’re gracious, well-mannered, endearing,
Yes dare I say… nice

They seem so contented, yet inside so damn sad
They pretend to be decent, then turn out to be bad
They claim to be honest, but really they’re liars
They try to be modest, but often they’re cocky,
Conceited, pretentious, obnoxious and… vain

This human equation, is driving us crazy, this human equation

This human equation, success and frustration
Wealth and starvation, moral stagnation
This human equation, evolved or creation?
The one explanation: universal migration!

They plan, they scheme, they’re not what they seem
They hide behind their disguise
They’re loud, they brag, they shout and they nag
But man what a drive, they’re on fire, see them thrive,
They’re alive!

This human equation, is driving us crazy, this human equation

And yet they amuse us, just because they confuse us
For their logic eludes us, but their passion consumes us

3. HOPELESSLY SLIPPING AWAY

"Abby returns home, wracked by guilt and shame.
Daniel's last last cries of "why? why?" echo endlessly in her mind.
She is broken. hopeless. inconsolable.
It seems to her there is only one way out.
But then...
A strange sensation comes over her "

Abby:
Am I imagining you're near?

Please set me... free

Daniel:
How innocent you are

So near and yet so far
So warm and yet so... cold

Abby & Daniel:
I feel you slipping away
Hopelessly slipping away

Abby:

Daniel:

I'm sorry I ever doubted you

4. GET OUT! NOW!

Alas, I was afraid of this…

Henry indeed betrays his brother daniel.
He tells their father everything.
Livid with anger, father summons daniel to the great hall.
Nothing good ever happens when one is summoned to the great hall by one’s father.
And to put it mildly…
This particular father is not a man to be tampered with.
I think it’s a pity he was ever born…
