Jersey City
Deathcore group Fit for an
Autopsy is back with their fifth full length LP,
The Sea of Tragic Beasts. This band was in my constant rotation alongside many critically acclaimed deathcore bands during my high school days among bands like Thy Art is Murder,
Born of Osiris,
Impending Doom and others. Unlike their contemporaries, I wasn't too engaged with their other work.
Alas, here we are.
I know I'm a bit late with this one seeing it came out in October.
Alas, the band actually takes it upon themselves to add quite a bit of flare to their vocal ranges and overlapping the two. The guitar work takes some influence from Metalcore and even some death and black metal is thrown for a bit of flavor. The highs on
Shepherd, No Man is Without Fear and Your
Pain is Mine are actually pretty good. The cleans overlayed throughout the album actually gives it a darker edge to it. The groovy guitars are ever-present.
Overall though, the album didn't particularly stand out as amazing, just decent. If you're interested in a decent album to pass time to this one isn't bad. I give this album a 15/20.
