Hey hemistes, you should probably call this thread 'favorite pagan/folk/viking album', 'cause my favorite album ever isn't any of those 3 genres.
...Well, actually it is folk/black, don't know if that counts. But here it is:
Ulver's Bergtatt. I'm not 100% sure this is my favorite album, but if it's not, it's pretty damn close. Great powerful atmosphere, and it moves seamlessly between agressive and passive melodic. It's like Opeth if they were good. It's fairly short, especially for a black metal album (35 mins) but I think that's the perfect amount of time for an album like this. Very innovative black metal, there was nothing like this around at the time of its release.
Also, the vocalist was 16 at the time, but his vocals are incredible.
